The Candle

Standing in a pool of light,
Cast by her own dreams divine,
The Candle stands and shines.

The wind moves, the earth turns,
Sneaking from the window, the breeze returns...
Yet the candle burns.

Once young she romanced the flame,
Now old, she misses the game.
The flame is dying in distress.

"Candle glow, let me grow"
Let's not flicker, let us sizzle...
Through the night, make love to me...
I'm dying!

Hurt and Chocolate

When you are hurt, treat yourself with a nice chocolate. That is because, it is bitter and sweet at the same time. Solid and melting at the same time. And a hidden raisin suddenly comes as a surprise. Just like the blow that struck you suddenly.

(P.S Injury is physical, Hurt is mental, I'm talking about hurt so do not confuse.)

Mirror Mirror on the wall...

Fascinated by your honesty I stand. Looking through my own little heart, bitten into two, often, sewn into one. When I come closer to you, why do you blur. Or is it me, shying away from my own in-capacities?

Devilish me, you see through don't you? Indulge into my deepest darkest secrets and laugh a shrill laugh! Take a high from the heaviness in my throat, the voices I have choked. Throttled, like a bottle with a cork stuck. It is only your symmetry that I fail to decipher. Turn as the images in you do. Each glimpsing into more identity. What will you do to a corpse? Perhaps, take it all along its journey. Not in frames or flashes but in glimpses so many. Teenage pimple-pitted faces, self-realizing and exploitative young women. Bitches of the dark, they are safe from you. It's those shiny personas you spit gleam at. I'm not saying I'm shiny. I'm saying spit your gleam on me. Turn and twist like I do. Slithering in dreams like a snake in pain. Whimpering, losing to sorrow, deepening. Invite me in and I'll know your sins. I've chased perfectionism long enough. Making no one proud. No allies. No companion. No not many. My fallen, charred feathers won't lift any spirit anymore. With holes in them, the courageous sunlit-air will wham through.

I'll faint to the ground in front of you. Back to you. Back to me.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...I want to leave the world in front of you. Grace peace.
Corpse staring at a spirit alive! Me, show me my life. Show me how I stood struggling inside the womb, outside, waging.

Show me, I'm waiting...Making no one proud. No allies. No companion. No not many.

Inside a painting...

Jaded lashes quiver,
Peering into illusions unknown.
From where I stand I see...
Darkness disappear, and dawn grow.

Till now it reflected,
A dark iris back at me.
It's a palette turning into...
Strokes of a memory.

A little morsel on nature's plate,
Crafting a dream in my wake.
Dark sketched brows...
A dash for vermilion.
Underneath I see,
Bottled up misery.

White has been mixed,
My mind jinxed.
Majentic story,
Dripping in its glory,
Splashing painted harmony.

No colour can match.
No warmth can flush,
This face,
This masterpiece of the sun's faith,
And the moon's love!

The art of Inspiring - leadership

What we choose is what we are.

Well, but it is not as simple as that because to be that we must ask ourselves some intelligent questions.
What is our purpose in life? Why did we take human birth? What will take me closer to my purpose? Is my purpose enough convincing for I, ME and MYSELF?

The answers don’t come easy. It is like an immensely jumbled word that you know you can very well decipher, yet you aren’t sure that you do. Sometimes the mind gets caught in rudimentary logic and sometimes in oh-so-real fantasies. The latter ones are probably less dangerous.

Why is the previous one lethal? Erosion of human values begins with the thought that selfish pursuit of one’s own ambitions, without paying attention to the means that one adopts, is fair and just. One gets confused with ‘end justifies the means or means justify the end?’ While the truth may differ morally from person to person, with the ‘end justifies the means’ motto in mind, one works obsessively, exploits loopholes and people only to damage the environment.

Justifying a negative feedback one starts to justify methods that get rewarded by greater profits. The real ‘reward’ is one loses that sense of community that is so vital for healthy living.
I would define that as “I’m so lost in becoming, that I start getting scared of my real state of being.”

A movie called ‘The Corporation’ is an ideal portrayal of how Organizations become large corporations by following these methods. While the media celebrates such people and their ‘success’, these people become ‘LEADERS’ for the masses! Such dangerous leadership kills a nation’s creative potential, freedom and growth.

The key to fighting this is self-awareness and mindfulness. All we must focus on is to pay attention to invoking our own consciousness. This will make us fully-aware of the decisions we make and their consequences. It will make us attract people who are genuinely diverse and bring high intelligence, creativity and inspiration into our lives.

Let us become one such inspiration to another. Let us create powerful visions of ourselves and connect everyday action to a sense of higher purpose. Let us all not depend on one man fighting corruption in a hospital. Let us rule our body, our mind, our soul..Ourselves. Then we can become one nation powered by the gifts of talent and ‘workable education’ that can bring about a ‘rainbow of change’. Let us be, a rainbow to that barren land where crowds hear only lip service.

Leadership is not about leading others, it’s about your body, mind and intellect. It is how you take care of the SELF. Fuel the body with exercise and nutritional food; shun these fast food giants…the selfish corporations. Feed the intellect with meaningful education that connects to life today and tomorrow. Empower the mind with positive thinking and clean it regularly by washing out hatred, anger, jealousy and cynicism.

That is the art of inspiring. That is leadership in its purest form.
